Here are your PlayStation Plus Games for October

October is just around the corner and while we have already been pleasantly surprised by Sony’s crossplay news, we mustn’t forget some of the regular things that are happening in the PlayStation calendar! That’s right, the PlayStation Plus (PS Plus) games have been announced too.

One of the most curious games is Friday the 13th – just in time for Halloween. Its rival Dead by Daylight (DBD) was also a free PS Plus game this year and one must wonder why they’ve been both released for free. Friday the 13th is an online multiplayer game where one player controls the infamous masked killer Jason Voorhees while the other players try to survive and escape his clutches. Similar to DBD, the game requires teamwork and heart-thumping skill.

Laser League is another game that’s up for grabs for PS Plus subscribers. Developed by Roll7, it’s described as being a futuristic sports game where two teams of two to three players apiece compete by setting up moving lasers in an arena. Back in 2017, it was touted as being a game that could possibly be the next big thing that could take over from Rocket League, though with the continued success of games like Fortnite, some of the breakout games were overshadowed.

Laser League has received promising reviews since its release so here’s hoping that more players will hop on board to give it a go.

Those over PS3 won’t miss out either with crossbuy games. The puzzle game, The Bridge, (also available on PS4 and PS Vita) will be on PS Plus. In this game, the player controls a character as well as the rotation of the 2D environment, which affects gravity based on the changing orientation of the landscape. Gorgeous in execution, it’s one that will definitely have players using their puzzle skills.

BAFTA winner for artistic achievement Master Reboot is also going to be made available. This psychological trippy game will be released for free on the PS3.

Next on the list for Vita owners is the side-scrolling twin-stick shooter Rocketbirds 2: Evolution which is a crossbuy with the PS4.

According to its creators: “Players again will gear up as Hardboiled, the tough-asnails, plucky chicken super-agent and the original “Cock of War.” The evil megalomaniacal despot Putzki, who wants nothing more than to bend the world to his wing, is still alive, and his evil plans force Hardboiled to hunt him down and eliminate him once and for all.”  All puns intended.

Finally, 2064: Read Only Memories, another crossbuy for Vita and PS4 has also been announced. The cyberpunk adventure game was originally released on the computer as Read Only Memories in October 2015, and the title was later updated coinciding with its PS4 release in January 2017.

The PlayStation Blog adds: “for fans of H1Z1, we have the PlayStation Plus Blueshift Pack. This pack is perfect for new players and pros alike, and includes the Blue AR-15 schematic, Pro Gamer Hoodie, and Marine Blue Offroader – all free for PS Plus members” and “PlayLink and PlayStation VR bonus games are still available for download as part of your PS Plus membership”.

We’re excited, are you? What games will you be diving into this October?
