Mental Health Ireland is celebrating Mental Health week from 7th – 13th October and I felt like the theme of the week speaks very much to our community. The theme for this event will be “Young People and Mental Health in a Changing World” as set by the World Federation for Mental Health
As a community that always tries to promote good mental health wherever possible I wanted to remind our members of the importance of creating mental health awareness in Ireland. Next week is all about promoting Mental Health and making people aware of the five ways of wellbeing. The Five Ways to Wellbeing formed by Mental Health Ireland are simple actions you can do in your everyday life to feel good and function well. Those actions are simply –
- Be Active
- Take Notice
- Keep Learning
Mental Health Ireland are hosting a walk on the 7th October to kick off the week. The walk will promote the five actions and also give people a chance to meet and get a nice walk in.
The Republic of Players will be running some events during the week to promote Mental Health. These will include Fortnite meet ups, Fifa tournaments and much more! We have always tried to build a community that members can speak freely and meet new friends while doing what we love.
For anyone looking to volunteer for the event you can contact Mental Health Ireland at [email protected]
